Moodboard

Longslice Brewery is a local brewery in Toronto, who asked Humber students to produce a beer can design as a pitch with a partnership to the Toronto Zoo. This project is a pitch made to Longslice.

Longslice’s objectives for the can design revolved around:

  • Creating a unique series of animal-based cans
  • Attracting visitors to the Zoo
  • Presenting the sustainable resource in barley from beer production
  • Donating a portion of funds made to animal conservancies

My focus on this project was on art direction and typography. I, along with the other members of my team, selected on using 2D-style graphics to depict the animals which directly benefit from the donated grains by Longslice.

I worked on the typography through Adobe InDesign, showcasing the “less popular” animals through a space on the back of the can. I highlighted the 30% to draw the eye to the donations that purchasing the can of beer would create. The design follows a clean, easy-to-follow layout which leads to a QR code to the Longslice website.
